Kevin Roth is one of our new teachers in the Special Education department. However, he is not new to the district or to Waubonsie Valley as you will soon find out by reading more about Kevin.

Coach cross country and wrestling

How many years of experience in education do you have? Where have you taught before WV?
4 years as a TA at Metea and 1 semester as a SpEd teacher at Oswego High School

Why did you get into education?
2nd career. Fell in love teaching students with special needs

Where did you go to high school?
Here, Waubonsie Valley!!

Where did you go to college?
Undergrad – North Central College
Grad school – Aurora University

Where do you get inspiration from?
Great colleagues and mentors at Metea

Do you have a favorite Warrior Memory?
Homecoming court sophomore year & Warrior wrestling

Is there a student that you will never forget? Tell us why they were so memorable.
1:1 student I had at Metea. Most challenging and fun student I’ve ever had. Every day was different and I was always happy to work with him.

Food – Italian Sub
Beverage – Barq’s Root Beer

Favorite childhood teacher and why?
Mr. Nelson @ Granger. Always challenged me and kept me motivated to compete with my twin sister who he also had in class.

When not at school, where do you like to spend your time or what do you like to do? Do you have any special talents?
Hanging out with my wife and friends. Love to be active.

What are your future goals?
Head wrestling coach and complete an Ironman triathlon

My wife Francesca

Have the biggest beard

What did you do this summer?
Bought a house and traveled to Memphis, Nashville, the Smokey Mountains, and Charleston.

What is your goal for this school year?
Be the best case manager I can be
