I’m coaching girls cross country at WV.
How many years of experience in education do you have?Where have you taught before WV?
I previously taught for a few years at Victor J. Andrew High School in Tinley Park.
Why did you get into education?
I love learning and I love the idea of helping others learn as well.

Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Where do you get inspiration from?
Books!
Favorite book?
I don’t have a favorite book, because there are so many that I enjoy. Some of them include The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, and the complete Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
Favorite Song/Artist?
I also have quite a few favorite songs, but I really enjoy “Float On” by Modest Mouse, and “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I mainly listen to 101WKQX on the radio.
Favorite Food/Beverage?
My favorite foods include mac and cheese, deep dish pizza, and sushi. My favorite beverages are tea and water.
Favorite childhood teacher and why?
Mrs. Nelson, who was my high school algebra teacher and my track/cross country coach. She inspired me to become a teacher and we are close friends now.
What did you do this summer?
This summer I visited with my friends, traveled to Nashville with my cousins, and prepared for the school year.
What is your goal for this school year?
My goal for this school year is to find more opportunities for student choice in the classroom.
