Hey everyone,
Things are coming together, slowly but surely. In seeing many of you this week I can gauge a level of excitement and trepidation. Preparedness coupled with unease. Comfort, but on edge. This is all natural. Next week marks a shift in how we have been teaching since March 13th. Take these feelings as they come. Control what you can, don’t expect perfection and lean on this school community to assure this transition goes as smooth as possible.
Important Items:
- Attendance and Self-Certification: We are working on the kinks regarding the self-certification for students coming In-Person. Charles Bibbs and Bob Dobbertin will be sending more information out about this soon. Please read through this information thoroughly as you will have some responsibilities to be aware of for the safety of all. In the meantime, begin to get familiar with the icons on your student attendance (desk, camera, green check, etc..) and prepare to be thorough with attendance the first 5 minutes of your classes.
- Student Voice: Brian Wiencek was kind enough to gather feedback from several of our students about their experience with Remote Learning. Their feedback was no different then what many of you have heard already. Use this feedback, as well as survey information you have received to help prepare you for second semester as you work within your PLC’s Monday.
- Monday’s SIP Day– Try not to worry about Tuesday on Monday’s SIP day planning, think long road! This coming semester will be different in that summer will be here and school will be over. Anything we can adjust (grading policy, homework policy, structures in class, etc.) that were issues this past semester, make those adjustments as a PLC now. Plan for what we have learned going into this new semester.
- Lastly– Here is a Principal Newsletter Screencast that sets up some structures for the week ahead to be aware of. I am so grateful for all of you. You have made 2020 happen, thank you for all you have done for our students. As a person that enjoys solving problems, serving and feeding off your ideas I am anxiously excited for this next transition.
On Three…
